The SRC presents cultural and recreational events, musical performances, educational classes and other activities that foster appreciation and excellence in the arts, sciences and humanities.

MILO Hosts The Original Game of Skate by ES

ImageSKATE was first played in the 1970’s by vertical skateboarding legends Lance Mountain, Neil Blender and John Lucero, and was then adopted by street skaters in the 1980s.

The éS Game of SKATE tournament was created in 2003 by the éS Team. There are imitators, but the éS Game of SKATE is the original and best.

Come out to Milosport South Jordan and test your skills against some of the eS team and win some sweet prizes

Resort Closures - Is It That Time Again?

So another season draws to a close, even with significant snowfall in the last two weeks.  Such is the way of the world.  So while there is still time to take one more lap down your favoirte slope or work on your last 360 truckdriver, get out there and support the resorts before taking out your golf bag for the summer.

THE CANYONS JAM FOR RESPECT

On Saturday, March 7th, The Canyons delivers Jam for Respect! A rail jam exhibiting the jibable features of a 6' corrugated pipe, the Chippin' Post, a mushroom cap, buttery picnic tables, the Euro Gap and other tech elements. Held in the Upper Respect Park, Jam For Respect will be a comp in the jam format with both rider and skier divisions and separate age categories. Contestants will be judged on all maneuvers, with judges looking for style, degree of difficulty and fluidity.

Upper Respect is located off the Sun Peak Express. Awards include rad product from Skullcandy, Smith and more!

Registration will be capped at the first 100 competitors so sign up early!

Registration: 8:00am – 9:00am - Smokie’s Bar & Grill
Training: 9:30am – 10:30am - Upper Respect
Riders’ Meeting: 10:30am - Top of course
Event Start: 10:45am - Top of course
Awards: 3:00pm - Music stage in the Resort Village

Following Jam For Respect will be FREE live music from Mama's Cookin as part of our Spring Concert Series. Mama's Cookin brings hip-hop beats, rap-like lyrics, merging with heavy blues. Live in the Resort Village at 3:00pm! Also, Clif Bar will be sampling in the Resort Village, so stop by their tent on the way up or down the mountain.

The Intelligent Design at Park City Mountain Resort will comprise all elements of competitive snowboarding including big air, half-pipe and jibbing in one course. The event will be located at the Eagle Superpipe, which will be transformed to host the new terrain park creation. The Intelligent Design will feature the top 20 male snowboarders in the world and $50K in prze money. Snowboarders will battle it out in a two-run qualifier in order to compete with the top 10 in a best of three-run final.

The World Superpipe Championships have enjoyed six glorious years of fierce competition, but now it's time for change. On March 7, 2009, Park City Mountain Resort is taking the next step in competition evolution with “The Intelligent Design” snowboard competition to be held at Park City Mountain Resort.

The Intelligent Design at Park City Mountain Resort will comprise all elements of competitive snowboarding including big air, half-pipe and jibbing in one course. The event will be located at the Eagle Superpipe, site of the 2002 Winter Games, which will be transformed to host the new terrain park creation. Invitees to The Intelligent Design will feature the top 20 male snowboarders in the world and $50K in prize money. Snowboarders will battle it out in the Eagle Superpipe in a two-run qualifier in order to compete with the top 10 in a best of three-run final.

So what is “Competitive Evolution?”
1.  A competition with a progressive approach to terrain park design
2.  Changes of the molecular element in terrain park structure
3.  A smart snowboarding course
