As the week progressed, I was constantly checking the opening dates for the resorts this week on-line and had anticipated the opening TBA of resorts to change to OPEN. When I checked the status yesterday, my black Friday turned right upside up and I started to gather my gear. The Canyons, Park City Mountain Resort, Solitude, Wolf Mountain, and Snowbasin all opened this weekend with Alta, Snowbird on the verge of opening for the season. But, Brighton is the resort I always start my season at, so when the opening date was announced yesterday I gathered my gear and braced for the cold weather. |

 Snowboard photographers art is seen by millions of people everyday around the world. Either in the mailboxes as the latest issues hits the streets for the first time or passed around a group of friends reading articles or mesmerized by their favorite athlete. Photographers are the people standing next to the filmers getting the video that people buy with freezing fingers and handling light rigging. Those split second images that capture the instance of history making. Think about the JP Walker double cork as it appeared in poster format before the video was released. Examining every frame to see exactly what the trick was, then the movie came out and it happened a lot faster that you thought. Photography is an art and the subject of snowboarding is no less artistic than photos hanging in galleries all over the world.
On Friday, November 16 is a chance to see four of snowboardings best photographers and local residence in the business display their work as art pieces in the show ‘Hustle and Snow’ featuring Andy Wright, E-Stone, Rob Mathis, and Stan Evans at the Circle Lounge. Music will be provided by snowboard athletes Justin Bennee and J2.
The show will be up until January 31, well into the 2008 season.

 For anyone who has ever snowboarded the name Craig Kelly is one that is idolized and set above the list of greats that have molded the sport. Kelly was known as the 'Godfather of Freeriding; Terje Haakonsen called Kelly the best snowboarder of all time. Over his 15-year professional career, he won 4 world championships and 3 U.S. championships; he won the Mount Baker Banked Slalom in 1988, 1991, and 1993. "Let It Ride" explores the life of Craig Kelly and all those he influenced along the way.
