It’s probably an extreme understatement to say that Stesha D’Amico LOVES to snowboard! It’s been her passion for the past ten years, ever since her sister and best friend introduced her to the sport at the age of thirteen. Living in Utah, she rode Snowbasin and Powder Mountain throughout junior and bought a season pass to Park City as soon as she was old enough to drive!
While still in high school, it was only natural for Stesha to start competing, and she did fairly well – good enough to attract the attention of Tom Lee and the staff at Blindside Skate/Snow Shop. After seeing her do a backside 50/50 on an 18-stair handrail, they decided to sponsor her.
After graduation Stesha rode as much as possible, but overshot a jump one tragic day and tore her ACL. However, after surgery three months later she was back on her board pushing herself on the jumps and learning new tricks. All her hard work managed to hitch her a ride to the Vans Triple Crown – which flipped her world upside down. |

Style. When Future Snowboard Magazine 3.4 dropped early season featuring a stylish wall ride of Trevor Andrews under a freeway, the brain instantly associated the two to become one. Style + Wall Ride = Trevor ‘Trouble’ Andrews who has always had style and signature moves (Mctwist) to accompany the seven series he has been helping develop over the years. While recovering from a knee injury last year he put his downtime to good use creating “crunk rock” on this self titled record and played some of the biggest snowboard events in the world. “Trouble” Andrews will be flying in from a show in Whistler to play the opening party for X-Dance in downtown Salt Lake City, Saturday January 19, 2008. His last show here was in November for an Oakley party, which most of the public did not get an invite. For the last year, Trouble’s self-titled debut has been circulating from car stereos to snowboard community housing and finally to iTunes. I first heard “Chase Money” on the way to an afterparty in sub zero temperatures with steamed up windows, thinking I was listening to a Timberland lost track from the 90’s. Finally having bought the whole album off iTunes, it’s remarkable to hear what other bands spend so much time and money trying to create, yet this naturally seems to flow from Trouble in buckets. The influences range all over the board as mentioned on his Myspace site that has an impressive 300,000+ visitors and over 600,000 total plays for his music. This latest tour will also take him to some of the greatest snowboard events, where he will be performing after competing at the X-Games, ISPO trade show in Germany, the Air and Style in Innsbruck and then playing back in the states at the famous knitting factory in New York City.
When was the last time you were in Utah?
I was last in SLC in November 07 I played a show for an Oakley party.
Since you just finished the second ‘Trouble’ record, how many new songs are you previewing to the public? The 2nd record is not finished yet. I'm actually in the middle of recording it and finishing up the Trouble mix tape coming March as well. The new Trouble Andrew LP will be coming out this May. We have been playing a lot of the new songs for the 2nd record live.

Front Board on the Kink Box NAME: Steve Duke PROFESSION: Terrain Park Manager JOB DISCRIPTION: Build a sick park!
How long have you been in the business of building Terrain Parks? I’ve been building parks for 6 years. Back Lip on the Flat Box
What are some improvements to be expected this season? More features. We’re always going for bigger and better in this biz. Trends in jibbing change, from stalls to walls to boxes to rails and then back around again. I figure if you have a good mixture in everyone’s stoked.
What is the theme for your Terrain Park? All the new features have a city influenced to their design, so maybe city jibbing with a touch of traditional snowboard park mix in. I don’t know we just build what sounds fun. Volcano Box |
