How is the movie going to be distributed this year? It’s going to be distributed through Future Snowboard Magazine and it comes out November 7 on newsstands. It’s the December issue of Future, so there are 200,000 full lengths coming out. The teaser is in the Future Snowboard that is out right now and with X-Box Magazine and Play Station magazine. So between the teasers and full length version there is over a million copies.
How long did the video take to film? All the riding, and the chase scenes, the bond scenes with Shaun White were filmed between February and the end of April. Then the green screen shoot and interior cabin scene in early June out in Hollywood and Pasadena, CA, which was really cool. We shot the interior cabin scene with Shaun White and a Russian actress who performed as a Russian Spy. Then a green screen for the introduction of the movie and follows the opening scene of the movie follows the whole Bond theme. All the stuff was done after the mountain was closed. In December I took out a loan on my house, got the movie rolling, got the distribution, got the riders, Shaun was on board and was the only movie he filmed for this season. You’ll see him in other stuff two seasons ago, but as far as movies he filmed for this season, this was the only one. I got the resort to back it and they were %100 behind it and so I didn’t have to worry about the money coming out of my pocket anymore. It was definitely something I wanted to do for the last three years. I just had this idea of filming a James Bond parody and doing the skit and introduction, which is reminiscent of a James Bond movie. The movie then shows traditional park segments, which is the body of the movie. It has our other riders in it like, Aaron Biittner, Scotty Arnold, Mark Frank Montoya, Danny Davis, Erin Comstock, Drew Fuller, and Stevie Bell. There is just a really good line up. It showcases the mountain well and the riders have different parts. The credit section is really cool where we use the same kind of silhouetted graphics, with behind the scenes stuff and motion graphics that we use in the introduction of the movie.

Frank Black - p: T.Roberts Palace of the Brine Frank Black - singer and songwriter for the Pixies, Frank Black and the Catholics, and his solo career - came to Salt Lake City on Aug. 9 to play a solo acoustic show at Urban Lounge. Black played songs spanning his career, including tracks from his new album "Frank Black: Fast Man Raider Man." The new album was produced over a two-year span by Jon Tiven, who recorded albums by B.B. King, Wilson Pickett, Graham Parker and Black's last record, "Honeycomb." "Fast Man Raider Man" features artists like Levon Helm from the Band, Tom Peterson from Cheap Trick, Buddy Miller, Matty Brown, P.F. Sloan, Steve Cropper, Reggie Young and Spooner Oldham. It's an admirable lineup, and the album displays how well these legends can play together. Frank Black kicked off his solo acoustic tour here in Salt Lake and will tour for about a month, playing some shows with the Foo Fighters. Perhaps influenced by Utah and its strong family ideals, Black brought his entire family along with him on tour. I was able to call Black a few days before his show here in Salt Lake and talk to him about his new album, songwriting and Salt Lake - and here's what he had to say: |

Justin Hebble, because he is so tech the whole season, I'm just trying to keep up. Jeremy Jones and Seth Huot, because they are so well-rounded and consistent. |

andywrightphoto.com If my memory serves me right I first met Brad Kremer in Jackson Hole while filming with Whitey. I thought it was weird that he had a beardy face and wore unique looking glasses. He told me he was from Kentucky and I thought that weird as well. I think I asked him something stupid about Jack Daniels and suddenly Embry Rucker appeared in a plume of smoke and I was surrounded by Kentucky camera types. Well Brad turned out to be quite a nice, genuine person who obviously loved what he did. Film snowboarding. And he’s damn good at it.
Brad, you rock man! |
