Salt Lake City - It was not that long ago that Julian Carr and Rachael Burks were hanging out on the playground of Salt Lake City’s West High School. Neither of them ever dreamed that 10 years later they would be co-starring in Warren Miller’s 58th film “Playground.” Athlete Juliann Carr remembers watching Warren Miller films when he was a child, and feels “stoked” to know there are still a lot of young skiers out there getting “pumped up” by the films. “Warren Miller films are super fun to work with,” says Carr, “These films must be responsible for motivating nearly half of the U.S. ski population.” Other local Utah athletes featured in the film include Rachael Burks, Jamey Parks, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Jamie Pierre, Jesse Hall and Max Kuszaj.

This year’s film includes eight minutes of breathtaking footage, highlighting Utah’s amazing topography, snow and accessibility. The segment is the result of a sponsorship of the film by the Utah Office of Tourism and features the state’s ‘Life Elevated’ brand. “Utah's Greatest Snow on Earth® is the perfect fit for the Warren Miller signature films, which highlight the best skiing in the world. And for the first time, in Warren Miller’s long history, we are delighted that the Utah segment depicts skiers enjoying the red rock ‘Playground’ of southern Utah on mountain bikes, before being lured to the slopes by the incoming powder. It shows Utah's unmatched variety,” says Utah Office of Tourism managing director Leigh von der Esch. “The generosity of the Utah Legislature and approval from our tourism board has allowed the ‘Life Elevated’ brand to be featured at over 400 screenings in 185 markets in the U.S. alone, with additional venues worldwide.”
