Opening resorts without Mother Natures help is a lot harder than it is to open up Terrain Parks.  With the opening days at three resorts, all opened up a limited selection of features from their arsenal of boxes, rails and mini-ramps to keep guests busy hiking and running laps all day.  Park City Mountain Resort has a skate style theme for their entire park this season.  In the bone yard waiting for snow is no less than 5 mini skate ramps inspired by vintage skate companies and their logos.

There is a lot to wait for since they will be opening four terrain parks this season varying in difficulty.  For opening day, there was an adequate line put together by Jim Mangan and his staff for creative lines and new features to work out the stock list.  A triple box opened up the run followed by a 20’ flat box into a rainbow box, a pyramid box, double barrel rail and then two mini ramps set at an angle for technical rock-n-rolls or transfers.  Each day the terrain park will be maintained and switched around often enough to feel new.  Until new snow starts to fly and additional terrain parks are added, spend the day hiking or running laps and warm up for a promising skate (snow) season.
