Brian Head, UT- Brian Head Resort has completed a major expansion project – an Interconnect System that conveniently joins its Navajo and Giant Steps ski mountains. It also adds nearly 35% of exceptional new terrain. The total cost of the Interconnect System exceeds $6.5 million, with the Town of Brian Head contributing $900,000 towards the project. The Interconnect System includes two new triple chair lifts, expanded snowmaking, and a beautiful new skier bridge over State Highway 143 that connects the previously divided Navajo and Giant Steps Mountains. Skiers can now access the entire Resort without removing their skis. Guests travel down the east slopes of Navajo Mountain and cross over the Highway on the skier bridge to the base of the new lifts. Skiers and snowboarders of all abilities can now enjoy both mountains as one, making this family getaway even more user friendly than before. “This is the most significant improvement that has been made to the Resort in over twenty years. It allows us to utilize all of the scenic and varied terrain the two mountains have to offer, and makes the Resort ski and feel like a much larger resort.” Said Henry Hornberger, the Resort’s Vice President and General Manager.
