What are some improvements to be expected this season?
More features. We’re always going for bigger and better in this biz. Trends in jibbing change, from stalls to walls to boxes to rails and then back around again. I figure if you have a good mixture in everyone’s stoked.

What is the theme for your Terrain Park?
All the new features have a city influenced to their design, so maybe city jibbing with a touch of traditional snowboard park mix in. I don’t know we just build what sounds fun.

How important is park safety to yourself and the resort you represent?
Safety is always on our minds when we do anything in our park. We take rider safety very seriously at the canyons. I believe you can have fun in a terrain park with out scaring the piss out of your self.

What should kids know before riding Terrain Parks?
Become educated in the terrain parkways. Check out the smart style video and terrainparksafety.org there’s tons of good information to think about in that video. Also, always have a plan before you ride any feature in the park.

What events will The Canyons be hosting this season?
-We are stoked to be continuing our annual canyons Park and Rail series.
-New years even rail jam. With a cash purse.
-A monthly best trick contest. It’s simple. We pick one feature a month in our park and have riders send in clips of their best trick on that feature. The winner gets the prize.

What’s the best way for locals to be noticed nationally?
It’s hard to say what’s the best way to get notice. I’ve seen riders blow up riding park, doing contest or filming. But you know, the common factor for all situations is plain and simple they’re good. You can’t fake talent and drive so if you want to get noticed work hard at being a sick shredder.

Any secret runs you would like to disclose?

Yeah, up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, select and start will get you somewhere sick! But for real the canyons has so many sweet stash runs all over the mountain anyone can claim a secret run for them self.

Last words?
Have fun, think about what your doing and ride safe.

Max Raymer Video
Check out this video that Max Raymer, Ride Utah’s favorite mini shred and Burton rider, sent us.  Filmed in Utah and New Zealand, Max is holding it down.  I knew this kid could kill it in the park, but, now he’s holding it down in the powder too?  Look out for this kid. http://www.vimeo.com/1835585
