ImageIt’s probably an extreme understatement to say that Stesha D’Amico LOVES to snowboard! It’s been her passion for the past ten years, ever since her sister and best friend introduced her to the sport at the age of thirteen. Living in Utah, she rode Snowbasin and Powder Mountain throughout junior and bought a season pass to Park City as soon as she was old enough to drive!

While still in high school, it was only natural for Stesha to start competing, and she did fairly well – good enough to attract the attention of Tom Lee and the staff at Blindside Skate/Snow Shop.  After seeing her do a backside 50/50 on an 18-stair handrail, they decided to sponsor her.

After graduation Stesha rode as much as possible, but overshot a jump one tragic day and tore her ACL. However, after surgery three months later she was back on her board pushing herself on the jumps and learning new tricks.  All her hard work managed to hitch her a ride to the Vans Triple Crown – which flipped her world upside down.

Image Stesha came home more motivated than ever to increase her sponsorship.  After sending some footage to a good friend and skate partner, Krista Moroge, she was accepted on Burton’s national team and was dressed from head to toe in Burton gear.

The following year took Stesha to the Nikita Showdown and Roxy Chicken Jam, qualifying in two events at both competitions in 2006 she tagged along with the Burton Demo all through Montana, and last year she did a little judging alongside Mike Basich and Jennifer Sherwoski.

Stesha D’Amico’s arc is on the rise. She is serious about snowboarding and knows where it can take her.  Grounded by God and her family, she’s poised to soar to new heights!
